Feather River Country Presentation
From its headwaters in the Plumas National Forest to the wide riffles below Lake Oroville, the Feather River system offers excellent fly fishing for trout and steelhead. The first half of Andrew's presentation features the two main rivers in the Plumas National Forest: the Middle Fork and North Fork of the Feather River. These are two very outstanding and very different trout streams. In the second half of his presentation Andrew will describe the prolific steelhead fishery in the Feather River below Lake Oroville. Andrew's presentation discusses each river in detail, including access points, techniques, and flies. His slide presentation includes excellent maps and pictures of the area. Andrew's Plumas National Forest Trout Fishing Guide was published in 1999 by Frank Amato Publications. Andrew also co-authored an article that appeared in the winter issue of Northwest Fly Fishing on the North and Middle Forks of the Feather River. He guides the Feather River in the fall for steelhead and for Clearwater House on Hat Creek during the trout season.
