Smith River, Montana, June 2003 Over the winter of 2002 I put in a permit to float the Smith River in Montana. It's a very popular float trip and the river is heavily regulated by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks. I was fortunate to draw a permit. I was joined by my roommate Derek Moffitt, and fellow guides Jay and Dan Cockrum. We commenced our five-day, 59-mile float on Monday, June 23rd. Here are some pictures from our incredible trip!
